From Humble Beginnings
Francis Fine Wines have been at the forefront of the supply of Fine Wines to the high end restaurant trade for more than 20 years.
Managing Director Matt Francis had the idea of starting Francis Fine Wines while on a 6-month tour of the Far East.
Having worked for the Cognac House 'Remy Martin' his interest in the wine and spirit world was piqued when the company branched out into fine wines and champagne including the uber quality house of Krug. When the company merged with a larger more corporate company it was time to leave.
Having had the aforementioned break Francis Fines opened it's rather modest doors in the spring of 1999 and traded with local businesses as a sole independent for 10 years. A lucky break saw the business join the IWBC ( Independent Wine Buying Consortium ) which has allowed the business to tap into the brains of fellow independent merchants and shippers from around the UK. Buying power was increased while (and most importantly) an ability to offer a large range of exclusive wine brands that cannot be found in other merchants, shops or on-line.
While growing over the years FFW has remained and always will remain a family-run business.
